ICTS are offering an exciting opportunity to become a Security Agent at Bristol Airport. We are looking for people who are personable, motivated and enthusiastic, have a positive attitude, are passionate about teamwork. We offer full training to all Security Agents, so it is all about your character, ambition and desire to make a difference to Bristol Airport’s 10 million passengers.

As a Security Agent at Bristol Airport, you will join a carefully selected and trained team of agents who are responsible for delivering an outstanding customer experience whilst maintaining the safety and integrity of the Airport, its passengers and its staff. Whether it’s using specialist detectors and X-Ray devices to screen and scan passengers and their hand luggage, or verifying the identity of crew and Airport staff, one thing is for sure; this is a customer service job with a difference. Teamwork, personality and a positive attitude are essential.

    About the role

As a Security Agent at Bristol Airport, some of your main responsibilities will include:

Carrying out ID and boarding card checks
Searching passengers, staff, airline crew and business partners
Carrying our security checks on cabin and hand luggage
Operating security equipment such as body scanners and X-ray machines
Ensuring passenger safety whilst providing compassion and empathy
    Solving problems and communicating effectively.

    The Small Print

There are some important things to know before you apply. The role is shift-based, meaning you’ll work between 4 and 12-hour shifts, with morning shifts starting as early as 2am. Bristol Airport is a 24-7-365 operation, so at times you may work early mornings, late nights, weekends & bank holidays if your shifts fall on these days. If offered a role, all Security Agents will be required to attend a 10-day accredited GSO training course.

You will need to pass our referencing checks going back five years, along with DBS (criminal records) and CTC (counter terrorist) checks, due to the security equipment you will be required to operate.  If you have resided in another country or countries for 6 months or longer in the last five years, you'll need to obtain criminal record checks from all the relevant countries to cover the last five years. Applicants will need to have resided in the UK (i.e. living and working, not just an address) for at least the last 3 years to be eligible for this role.

You’ll also need to be physically fit and well, as this is a physically demanding role. You will be required to stand for long periods of time, bend to lift and move heavy objects (including security trays, cabin and hand luggage) regularly throughout your shift. You may also be required to walk lengthy distances.

Please consider before applying whether you are comfortable with all of this.

    About you

Bristol Airport is well-known for delivering an award-winning customer experience to its passengers - and this experience starts with you.

We are looking for the following in our Security Agents:

Passion for customer service and willingness to assist all Airport passengers
An energetic and motivated team member, with a positive attitude towards learning and personal development
An exceptional team player, who enjoys working with a diverse range of people
A strong communicator, who can remain calm under pressure and is comfortable managing high-pressure situations
Strong aptitude and motivation for continuous learning and personal development
Physically fit and well, able to bend, lift and carry heavy items
Willing to work shifts including nights, weekends and public holidays

The working environment can be very social; during one shift, you’ll encounter thousands of passengers and being committed to delivering a great customer service to all is what we’re looking for.

SIA is not essential for this role as full training will be provided.
