    Controls Engineer

Know your way around automated systems and PLCs? Looking for a role giving you full life-cycle ownership? Do you want to be part of a business with big plans? If this is you, then we would love to hear from you.

In an ever-evolving industry we’re growing fast. The fifth largest UK airport outside of London, we serve our region as an inbound gateway to the South West and with over 100 direct routes, we don’t just transport people, we make amazing journeys happen.

We are at an extremely exciting time for the airport. Already widely considered as vital to the South West region’s economic growth, and with around 9 million passengers using the airport each year, we are growing fast.

This is a role where you can add real value. You will spend your time acting as the airport’s controls specialist, taking full ownership of PLC control systems across our key assets. You’ll be  a key point of contact when new equipment is installed on site and the go-to person providing responsive technical controls expertise, support and training to shift-based teams. This is not an in-depth programming role. Instead you will be taking full life-cycle ownership of PLC systems from selection and installation through to full service delivery to ensure maximum efficiency of automated systems.

An experienced PLC Controls Engineer, you’ll have the knowledge needed to be able to identify key issues when solving a problem, offer solutions, and deliver results. Previous experience of baggage systems in an airport would be ideal. However, we are equally interested if you have experience from another production, materials handling or manufacturing environment.

This is a role where your technical expertise will cross a wide range of stakeholders, and so your proven ability to build effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders is as important. This is a highly visible role where you can make a real difference.

    Does this sound like you?

In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a generous benefits package that includes 25 days annual leave, Stakeholder Pension Plan, free parking, private medical care - plus lots more. Apply now and land yourself the perfect role.
